Shamanic Drum & Rattle Making
Drumming/rattling resonates with our heart/soul beat. Making your
own healing/journeying instrument and awakening its healing energy is a
powerful experience. The ancients recognized the power of
creating our instruments and infusing our heart/soul beat into
them. The frame drum uses wooden frames, cowhide and sinew.
The rattle is also made from cowhide and a handle you select.
Feathers, beads and other natural artifacts or totems can be added to
the drum, rattle and beater. Your imagination and intuition will
guide you.
The weekend includes journeying
for guidance on making the drum and thanking the animals and other
living creatures for giving their hides, etc. for the
instruments. The shamanic technique is open to any spiritual
tradition and can be integrated with other belief systems.
